Major Works of Edgar Wright

Shaun of the Dead: (2004) Features a group of young adults enjoying and playing out their routine of a life.  Shaun is in a relationship, but nothing is sparking within it.  The movie takes a wide turn as they find out that the town has been infested with zombies.  The disease is spread by biting of the flesh.  The zombie disease first begins to transmit unnoticed by the main characters because they are too used to doing the same things every single day.  Finally, one day a zombie is noticed by a main character and all hell breaks loose.  The group of close friends soon are on a hunt for a safe place and grow closer to each other each day.  In the end, a few friends were lost, but their lives are forever transformed into something more than a routine lifestyle.  

Hot Fuzz: (2007) This is about an agent who is too good for his own good.  He is relocated to a small town that nobody has heard of.  Not much crime goes on there, yet a top agent is assigned to the city.  He is then faced with challenges starting with his partner in crime.  Then he finds his fellow agents get into an accident which leads him to believe that there is a mass murder conspiracy out to get them!

He's Got Style!

Edgar Wright's film style is a rom-com-zom type of film.  This includes romance, comedy, and zombies.  He hit it on the spot with his most famous film, Shaun of the Dead.  Wright uses many British sayings and humor to entertain the audience.  A lot of his films are mocks of other things.  For example, Shaun of the Dead was a spoof off of Dawn of the dead.  He likes to use many joeks that are cliche in the movie industry.  If one were to say, "don't open the door" he would mock that feeling and insert into the movie for a familiar sense of humor to the audience.  Thus resulting in laughter and positive feedback because of the reality of it.  Within his sense of humor, he also directed 2 films for one of his ex-girlfriends.  Some of his styles are better known as "Brit Flicks" because it uses sayings and quotes that are popular in Britain along with romance. Wright was most likely inspired by his younger brother for a lot of his comedic videos.  His brother was  a comic book author and illustrator, he directly influence Shaun of the Dead.

Obsessed With Film

Starting at age 14, (as he was attending the Blue School, Wells) he began directing films left and right.  He had a major passion for videography.  At age 20, he created his first spoof off a western movie, A Fist Full of Fingers, which received a little bit of air time in movie theaters.  Spaced was another contribution to TV shows that Edgar produced.  He created an intense edge to the series, within the series, it showed parts of horror films and science fiction.  From there, his career took off to become something large.  He appeared in movies as a scientist and a technician.  He then continued to write comedies and thrillers later in his career.    His most popular turned out to be a zombie-horror-comedy film, Shaun of the Dead, and a comedy, Hot Fuzz.  He worked alongside many producers and writer to create multiple T.V. series and movies as well.
